Well, the E.O.G.'s are over. The boys have informed me that everyone who did not get a note sent home, passed them and does not have to retest. Since no notes came home Friday, I am crossing my fingers that this news is, in fact, true. Levi, however, just found out that he has exams soon. He told me the news and then said, "You don't seem surprised." "I knew this already," I replied laughing. I don't know where he has been, I KNOW he has been told this before. He has no more reading log for the year, and Wyatt has no more homework for the year. Their last day is June 10th. Big changes are coming next year to our schools because of budget cut backs. For starters, biotechnology has been cancelled from the middle school. To retaliate, Levi told us he was going to take office assistant and cooking classes. We steered him toward art and a physics class where they build bridges and rockets. To make matters worse they fired all the current bus drivers, that are teachers aides, and have hired the jobs out for next year. These people will be driving multiple routes for 7 1/2 hours a day. As a result, the elementary school day, will be 30 minutes longer (8:15-3) and the middle school day will be from 9-4. That means if Levi rides the bus, he will get home at 5. There is a meeting at the middle school with the superintendent and the school board (none of whom will get MY vote again) on Thursday of next week. I encourage everyone to attend this meeting and give them you know what for this ridiculous plan. Like my mom said, "Allot of things are good IN THEORY."
