Over the summer we were selling corn for 7.00. Last Friday it closed at 2.93 on the Chicago Board of Trade. It cost more than that to plant it last Spring. You do the math. Bottom line..... low oil prices=low commodity prices.
Oh Shannon, those are some big numbers. Corn is so important to us. We love corn. Is there something more we can do? Do you sell your corn somewhere locally we can buy it? I am not sure how it all works but we are praying for you all and your important work. Blessings.

Um, only if you need deer corn. Our corn is field corn grown for animal consumption. It is dry seed corn stored in grain bins.
Today has been a little better, eh Shannon?
Yeah, at least it didn't go lower than Friday.
I'm sorry for the way the economy is hurting y'all. That is a huge drop in price, I just can't believe it. I hope things get better!
I like your blog! It's nice to find another carolina blogger.
OUCH - hopefully the prices will start going in the right direction for you!
