Learning to ride

Getting ready
First crash (going uphill too slowly, lol)
And he's off
Trading places
Off again

Watching these two ride is very scary! G is a daredevil and S goes along like a little old man. The last time they rode the hubs said.....great day for an ER visit.....no kidding. So far, so good.

Urgent Care

Yesterday after lunch the boys were taking turns riding their four-wheeler, and Levi's dirt bike.  They had been outside almost 45 minutes, when Levi came running in the house white as a ghost saying that Wyatt was hurt.
He flipped the dirt bike two times and ended with it laying on top of him.  Since it was Levi's bike, he couldn't lift it off.  He screamed for his big brother, until he came and helped him, and then refused a ride to the house.  Can't say I really blame him, after THAT happened, who would want to get right back on?
Thankfully, he had his helmet on and walked away with bruises, a burn from the tail pipe, and the cut chin.  We thought his arm was broken, but the x-rays came back okay.  At the Urgent Care he was ushered straight back into a room, because he was looking pale and we were afraid he was going to faint.
He was awesome, and ONLY complained during the numbing shots.  The doc asked if I needed to go sit, but I stayed to watch the whole thing.  It was amazing to be on the other side of the table for a change, lol.  I was nine when I wrecked my bike and got stitched on MY chin.  I remember how pale my dad looked when it was all over.  Anywho, the roughest part was making sure all the dirt and grass were out of the cut before stitching it.  He has five stitches total in his chin.
When the doc was finished, Wyatt asked if he could see his x-rays.  They did him one better, and brought him a copy of one for his scrapbook.  The x-ray tech has all boys and told Wyatt that his scar was going to be sexy, and girls think they are hot!  He just smiled.  The doc did get several laughs out of him by telling him that a cricket may be sewn in there, and it would keep him up all night.  When we were leaving the doc said, "Thank God you had your helmet on son...don't EVER ride without it!"  "Oh, I won't," replied Wyatt.

How was YOUR Sunday afternoon?

Two Wheels?

A few days ago the buddies convinced the hubs to take the training wheels off of their bicycles.
He did, and G caught right on to riding with two wheels.
S... not so much.  He was wiggling the handlebars as he was riding, and would fall right over.
But, he would get right back on and ask to try again.
Today was different.  Today he was on a mission.  He rode and rode and rode.
It is so much fun to see the joy and pride on their little faces.
As S is riding, he is shouting, " I'M DOING IT, I'M DOING IT, I'M DOING IT!"  It is so funny.
Want to know what brought this on?  W has outgrown his dirtbike, and L has outgrown HIS dirtbike.  Time for everyone to move up.
Well, the buddies found out that they had to learn how to ride a bike FIRST.  (thank goodness they don't know about dirtbike training wheels, lol)
