Baptism and Confirmation

This year we had quite a few kids get saved during confirmation class. They wanted to be immersed, and as we are Methodist, we don't have the baptismal at our church. We had a wonderful ceremony at the local baptist church.
Here we have Levi's confirmation class. There were 7 girls and 7 boys this year. I thought that was really neat. The confirmation ceremony was really moving, because each child knelt down in front of the pastor and the youth leader. They laid their hands on his or her head and prayed for them. These kids have been taking classes for months and it was amazing that they all stayed with it and finished, and are now members of the church. I am so proud of all of them, especially Levi. It hit me how quickly time is flying by. I am also thankful that he has these friends at church and school to help with the daily life of struggling through becoming a teenager, and standing for Christ.

That's so awesome! We are Methodists, too, but I have never heard of confirmation classes in the Methodist church. Very interesting!

Congrats to Levi. What a nice class of young Christians. We are Baptist's and so are used to immersion.
This class and his decision is easily the most important step Levi will take.
I assume you've seen this short movie about a baptism gone bad.

On another note, we are preparing for a blizzard. The word 'Blizzard' isn't one the National Weather Service throws around lightly.

Thanks Nancy. I guess some churches have phased confirmation out. He has learned so much, I am so glad we still do them.

Cliff, I heard that on the radio this morning. Better you than me.

I was so proud of all of them and it was very moving when the Mitch and Bonnie laid hands on them. It reminded me so much of when I was little and was saved. I'm glad we got to share it with you & the family!

We were glad to be able to be apart of Levi's day (and your's)

On as side note we got your card today and the kids thought it was hilarious. G laughed and laughed. I asked him what was so funny and he said "Look at him, Mommy, he's leaning over at the other one" He wanted me to tell him which twin was which in the pic, but I didn't know. He also liked that they were all wearing green. :)

Brandy, glad you liked the card. The one leaning is G.

Congratulations to Levi! That is an awesome decision. Something really eternal was done Sunday - i missed being in church. ;) Next time, we'll have to drive to see the farm and you! :)

Handsome, happy kids. God bless 'em. You and your church are blessed indeed.

I came here from Cliff Morrow's blog. I wanted to know where it's 70 degrees. Here in the Heart of America it's NOT.

That IS indeed an awesome thing!

The accountability they will all have with each other is great!

It makes my heart leap for joy to see parents raising their kids to love the Lord and to follow Him!
