New Class

The school sent a note home stating that they have FINALLY received another fourth grade teacher.  This is one of those "good news/ bad news" kind of things.  The good news is that now the classes will be a tad bit smaller, there is already another fourth grade classroom in the pod not being used, and the teacher just graduated from college two years ago.  The bad news is that the class will be made up of 5 to 6 kids from the other five classes that have already gotten settled for the year, and the teacher was teaching fifth grade at another school in our county.  (now, had this been the year L was in fourth grade, I would have pulled him into that new class in a heartbeat)   I sat W down and asked him what he wanted to do.  L chimed in that a new teacher that was THAT young would be like going to a carnival all year long.... nothing but fun.  The ONLY thing that would get W to move, would be if his best bud moved also.  He loves his teacher this year, and has been thriving in her class.  I have heard nothing but great things from other parents about her.  So, he and I made the decision to try and get to stay put.  Parents were told we could send an e-mail stating, either way, what our preference was, but in the end it might not matter.  The new class starts next Monday (the 29th).  We are on pins and needles here.
