Valentines, Parties, and Honor Roll, Oh My!

Finally, now that February is almost over, here are some Valentine pictures of the kids.  I decided to get a "family gift", and got a cool board game called Pictureka.  It is really fun for big and small kids to play together.
Valentines Day we always give each boy a small treat bag, Valentine Cards, and this year I added Orange Crush.  Cute Huh?  Anyone drunk an Orange Crush lately?  Yeah, I almost threw up it was so sweet.
Here are the buddies after their Valentine bash at preschool.  Those little boxes are filled to the max with candy and cards.  Remarkable since there are only 11 kids in their class, lol.  They had pizza, cookies and juice boxes there too.
And, last but not least, we have Wyatt at the fourth grade honor roll celebration.  The principal was on the ball at this one and kept the names rolling.  These things have lasted for 45 minutes in the past.
They get a certificate, a gift, and their name is put into several drawings for free family night stuff in town.  Also, this year they have started something new.  All the kids sign their names on a huge banner, that is put in the entrance to the school for one week.  Love it!  After the celebration is over, they get a drink and a snack and can be signed out early for the day.  (as you can see this was when it was 72 degrees outside, today I am missing that with the arctic winds we have going on)

Trying to get Away

The hubs came home last week and asked me if I wanted to get away for the weekend for Valentines.  I was thinking to myself what was up, when he said there is an indoor farm show in Kentucky that he would love to go to.  I smiled to myself, it was beginning to make sense now.   We started trying to plan what day we would leave, who would drive us to the airport, and which kids were going where.   Then I remembered that the buddies were having their first Valentine Party at preschool and would be so disappointed if they missed it.  Wyatt was also looking forward to exchanging Valentines with his class.  Then the kicker, Levi had a Valentine dance Friday night at the middle school.  We had it down to the wire and ALMOST worked everything out, but had no ride for the buddies to get to and from their party.   The decision was made to wait until another year.  So, a few days later the hubs came in and asked if I thought we could go to Wyoming to see his brother, when the big boys go to Washington.   We started making plans, then I saw that the buddies have a field trip on that Friday.  One that they have been waiting for for weeks, because they get to ride the bus on this one.  The hubs looked at me and asked, "Is everything we do dictated by the kids activities now?"  "Pretty much", I replied laughing.

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!
We gave the boys their Valentines this morning.  They also received ones in the mail from Great Grandmama and Aunt Leigh, and a bag of goodies from Grandmama.  So they were pretty hyped up at 7am.  Wouldn't want to be a teacher today, that's for sure!  The big boys made Valentine boxes for their classes.  L even had to do it.  His teacher required it and said it was for a grade, and ALSO turned it into a contest.  So we made a red Dodge truck out of our box.  It looked pretty good, if I do say so myself.  She also told all of the kids that this was their LAST year for Valentines at school (next year is middle school) and they should all enjoy every last bit of it.  I love Mrs. Duke so much.
For my Valentine, the husband sent me an e-card, and THEN took the Suburban to the dealership to get my speedometer fixed.  (note here.... yes he could have done it himself, but it was under warranty)  So I didn't have to spend two hours in a waiting room with two hyper four year olds who just so happened to have Pez for breakfast.  That is true love.
Hugs and kisses to all!
