Egg Hunt 2011

Since our new building at church was built on our egg hunt hill, we moved the hunt to the middle school football field. Angie and I aren't sure what the final egg count was. Our goal was 3,000 and we stopped counting after that was reached. The donations of eggs and prizes were such a blessing!
It was great! We had so many volunteers step up to help with the set up and hot dog lunch and supervising the bouncy houses. My kids had a blast. Wyatt followed the buddies around, and Levi was in the obstacle course house to help little people get up the climbing wall.
The best news was we had people register before the hunt so we could see how many people came. We had FOURTY people come that do not go to our church. TWO of those families came to Easter Service on Sunday!
It has been such a blessing to watch the growth of our church since we have been going there the past three years. Sunday morning in our new building I found myself quite emotional. I can't wait to see how the youth and Kids for Christ programs flourish.

Egg Hunt and Easter Sunday

I helped Angie and Faith plan the egg hunt this year. Our Sunday School class also helped, and it went SO smoothly. The kids had so much fun! I am glad we got one last year to use this hill before the building starts.
S pleased with his basket of goodies. As you can see, there are still eggs out there, but his basket is full.
G is pooped. It was a gorgeous day. So sunny and warm. I got burned a little bit. Check out Wyatt's basket in the corner. Overloaded!
Easter goodies. Of course the big boys know what is going on, but they play along for the buddies. It is so cute. I got Levi and Wyatt the coolest bibles ever this year. They have come a long way since I was their age. They only came in blue, burgundy, grey, and black. Who else remembers that?
Waiting on Aunt Leigh and Uncle Dave on Easter Sunday. They came to visit and went to church with us. The service was a tad long. Half-way through, she leaned over and said, "I feel like I am at a homeschool graduation." True that! If you have ever been to a homeschool graduation, you know what we mean. ;)

Easter Party

Pics from the Buddies party at school. They were talking about chickens on the car ride home, and I couldn't figure out what they were up to. Until I walked into the kitchen, and they popped out and scared me to death.
It was so funny! Here is S's group for the party eating goodies.
G's group playing bingo with the student teacher.

Naked

Last week, during Easter vacation, I cleaned out the fridge. What you can't see in this pic (because the hubs took it with his iPhone) is the two empty doors. He came in shortly after I finished, opened the fridge, surveyed the situation and started singing.......

"A STARK NAKED LIGHT BULB, HANGS OVER MY HEAD"

Easter Baskets

All we heard from G before Easter was how much he wanted/needed a chocolate bunny. How awesome they were. How it must be big. How his life would be complete if he just had a huge, chocolate bunny. I thought he would get a kick out of the ears sticking out of the top of the box. He was ecstatic the say the least. He ran around the kitchen showing everyone (they all got the same one, lol). After breakfast, around mid-morning, we let the buddies try out the bunnies. I posted the pic last week. What I didn't post was what he said after he bit into the ears.

G- YUCK!!! THIS bunny is NASTY!!!! (follows that with trying to spit everything out of his mouth and wiping off his tongue)
Me- What? Why?
G- It has NUTS in it.
Me- What? Nuts? Buddy it is just chocolate.....no nuts.
G- NO! There are nuts. It is crunchy like those tiny candy bars that Daddy doesn't like.
Me- What?
S- (steps in to be the voice of reason) It is crunchy like the little red candy bars in the cabinet.
Me- (suddenly getting it) Krackle?
G- YES! NUTS!
Me- That is RICE to make it crunchy.
G- GROSS! RICE is WORSE!

I give up. The Easter Bunny needs to read the package a LITTLE more carefully next year. The box plainly stated "crispy milk chocolate".

How on Earth did I miss that?

Ready

We are ready to plant corn. Now if it would dry up a tad, so I can go to Stone Mountain for Easter with my sister and brother-in-law. Because, if the corn isn't in the ground, we aren't going anywhere.
