Conversation with my sister

I went shopping with my sister, mom, and sister in law before Christmas. This conversation took place....

Her- What are you looking for?
Me- A game called Cuponk.
Her- What is it?
Me- A game with a cup that lights up when you bounce a ball into it.
Her- Ummmmm.......beer pong for kids?
Me- Pretty much.

(We call it like we see it guys, lol.)

Children's program

The buddies are in a choir at church called Kidz Praise. They sing and dance and play instruments, and have great fun. The church was packed and several other groups sang. As usual, when all of the kids from Sunday morning came together, the small ones were hysterical. On went "rogue" and found a microphone of his own in the back. It was very entertaining! I look forward to the new building being completed so we can see better. Special thank you to Grandpa Dan for coming out to watch.

Santa

Santa came to Barrier Store before Christmas. I didn't tell the buddies, I just acted like it was a routine visit.
He drove his John Deere tractor to get there. How cute is that?
"Santa" was at basketball practice that night to watch his grandson. He just knew they would recognize him. No one suspected a thing. :)

Where's Daddy?

After Landon's dad and brother left on Christmas day, I realized I hadn't seen him in a while. So I asked Wyatt, "Where's Daddy". "Probably at the shop, get a picture of this", was his answer.
I walked over to Levi. "Where's daddy?" "Probably feeding up", was his reply.
Then I remembered, that the last time I saw him, he was going to open something for the buddies to play with. I went upstairs to their room.
This is what I found. P.S. They weren't playing quietly either. :)

Grandmama's House

I thought this was a shot of all the kids, and their kids and spouses, and realized that Dave is not in here. Dave.....where you at?
I love this pic, it shows the excitement/craziness of opening presents.
The great grandkids table (minus Kylin who is too small to sit here). We also just found out that Gracie is going to be a big sister next year. That will bring the count up to 10. Looks like the kids are going to need that kitchen table, lol.
The brother and sister shot for 2009. I KNOW David's eyes are closed, but everyone else looked so great I had to add it.

Christmas Eve

Taking a shot of the kids and the tree before we leave for Great Grandmama's house.
What is going on here? We were doing so well.
Good grief, did they all forget that I am holding the camera?
Okay, time to reign this in before someone gets hurt or knocks over the tree.
That's better! Merry Christmas 2009

Brief Update

Does anyone else feel like the holidays roll around way to quickly? It seems like we just finished our Thanksgiving turkey. What has been going on around here? Let's see.....I could just post a pic of the calendar again. The next week and a half of school consist of parties, DARE graduation, a doctors appointment for S, and wrestling. Stick in some shopping and you have it. We did manage to get the elementary teachers fudge made for Christmas gifts, I haven't had time to do the middle school yet. We also got the gingerbread house made. Kudos to Sam's, for their houses with pre-made icing. It was 10 times easier, and didn't harden up on us prematurely. The kit also came with cookies to decorate, so everyone could see what the house would taste like if we actually ate it. The mud room has suffered some budget cuts, so whenever it gets completed I will post a pic of that. It came down to cubbies or my washer and dryer. I think y'all know which ones won the fight, lol. We think we have a creative solution, so stay tuned. Hope to get the shopping finished today. That will alleviate most of my stress. Gotta go get the oldest child motivated to pack his backpack and wrestling bag before the bus comes. Have a great Tuesday! It IS Tuesday.....right? I need a vacation. :)

Building Birdhouses

The buddies got these little wooden birdhouses for Christmas from Grandma Debra.  They came in seven pieces that you glue together and then paint.
To the company that makes these I say, "Ha,ha,ha,ha, ha, and a great big HA" to you.  The watered down white substance you provide and call "glue" wouldn't hold two pieces of tissue paper together.  The instructions say if you don't want to to glue it, then nail it.
We got out my hammer (yes I have my own, and I hide it from the hubs or it would travel to the shop and I would never see it again).  The kit came with.... wait for it..... FOUR nails.  Four.  Remember it has seven pieces.
So, if you see one of these in a store just remember to hot glue it together.  Where would we be without hot glue?  Remember, I hot glue everything.  If hot glue won't work, we pull out the gorilla glue.   Amazing stuff, but back to the regularly scheduled program.
After you assemble.... you paint.  I recommend a John Deere hat to get the creativity flowing.  Don't all geniuses look better in green?  And wax paper, that paint is not water paint, it is the real deal.

To Gramdma's House We Go

After we left my Grandparents house, we drove over to Landon's moms house.  The boys played Cars bingo while waiting to open presents.
The stockings.  Always my favorite part.  You never know what you will find in a stocking.
They each got a snow globe, fruit, candy, and other cool gadgets to play with.
This is Landon's mom.  Do you see the resemblance?  He thinks he looks like his dad, but I see allot of his mom in him.
She always finds a wooden puzzle for him to solve every year.  He has quite the collection, now if "someone" would build some shelves in the office we could display  them.  Just saying....
Each of the boys got a remote control car that kept them entertained while supper was cooking.  They stayed outside forever.
Check G's mouth.  I asked him if he had been eating chocolate.  Think hard son.  He replied, "Maybe."
This was the last get together, I know it was allot.  Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!!!

Get Together #3128

Okay, okay, I know ya'll are thinking how many get togethers can one family have right?  Well, allot.  This is at my grandparents house in good old T'ville.
Affectionately known as Mamaw and Papaw.  Of course we had lunch at their house.  That is what we do in the South.  We gather together and eat.
Had to post another pic of the cutest kid in the world.  Don't you just want to squeeze him?  No, not the big one, lol.... the little one.
The boys all got a kick out of the huge glass cabinet filled with dolls.  They can't even comprehend why anyone would want such a thing on display in the living room.  I am not real sure what Graham is doing to the tree, but this was the quietest that they were the whole time we were there.  Mamaw has these old play guns and they were all running around shooting one anther very loudly.  Boys..... right?

Christmas Day With The Fam

My mom has an addiction.  To what you say?  Large plastic cups.  She has one that she got from the hospital when Bethany was born, that she will fill with ice and tea and haul around everywhere.  (Yes the cup is almost 20 years old, and yes the picture is coming off the front)  I don't even think that the hospital still has that same name.  When I saw that cup in TSC, I couldn't resist.  Do ya'll think it is big enough?
We got Bethany a GPS.  Poor child got Mom's sense of direction.  Right before Christmas she called us and asked us how to get to church from Concord Mills.  Landon got off of the phone and said, "That is IT.  I am buying Bethany a GPS.  Good lord I can't have her getting lost in Boone next year!"
Here we have a shot of the buddies doing what they do best.... comparing their gifts from Shaun and Brandy.   They love playing with Cars minis, the new town stops and of course the Banshees.  (yes Santa brought two Banshee's, he knew we couldn't stand the fighting over one)
I would like to point out Graham.  Mister quiet until he opened our gift.  He was so excited, I didn't have the camera ready.  We gave him Nerf Armor for his DS Lite.  He opened it and yelled out," YEEEESSSS! "  And smacked his fist on the floor to emphasize his happiness.  It was SO FUNNY, and so Shaun, lol.

All I Want For Christmas Is....

Christmas Eve night after we went to bed, I kept hearing different boys sneaking down the stairs to take a peek in the living room.  Finally, at 6am, I decided to go ahead and get up and fix my hair before the boys got up for "real".  While I was doing my make-up, the bathroom door opened.  It was Wyatt.
W- MAMA... you scared me!
Me- Why?  Because you should be sleeping?
W- I came downstairs at 3:30 this morning. (Like I didn't know, this child is incapable of being quietly sneaky)
Me- Really?
W- Yep. (proud of himself)
Me- Did Santa come?
W- Oh, yeah!  I saw a white box that said Mac Book on it.
Me- No... you didn't. (mock disbelief)  Maybe Santa just used that box for something else.
W- Oh, it WAS a Mac Book, AND there is a little box beside of it that says Apple Care.  So.... it HAS to be a Mac Book.  I'm going to wake up the buddies.
Me- Hold on there fancy pants, don't you dare wake them up until Daddy gets the camcorder on, and we are ready.
W- How long is that going to take!
Me- Probably 18 years.
W- MOOOOOMMMMMM, that wasn't funny.
