Saturday, after their basketball game, the buddies were invited to a birthday party at the skating rink. Here everyone is all smiles about thirty minutes before the accident. (I would like to thank our amazing neighbors for driving the other boys home for me, you guys ROCK)
And, as you have probably guessed, here we are in the urgent care after S had a fall on his right arm.
He forced out a brave smile for me as we waited on the x-ray results. The cardboard is a makeshift splint from the skating rink. They filled it with baggies of ice.
The results. Yep, broken. One broken and one bent. Good times.
He was really starving by this point. It was around 4:45 when the fall took place, and around 7:30 by this time. He said the splint made the pain go away, and he was ready for McDonalds.

Brittney broke her arm skating when she was in 7th grade. She was trying to speed skate. It happened about 5 minutes before we were about to leave. We spent about 3 hours at the emergency room and many, many trips to the orthopedic doctor after that.

McDonalds makes everything better--i especially like their #2 combo with 2 cheeseburgers--one for me, one for Ramona (lol--i told a friend that's what we were naming the baby, she said it was awful, so I've kinda nicknamed it that ;)
Quit with the McDonalds comments, that's torture! What happened to colors on splints? How's he doing? It's amazing how a bone can bend isn't it? Leigh had a bone like that, before she actually broke her arm. I love you Stone! Praying for a quick recovery and no more broken bones for the Barrier family!
Mom, this is not the cast, just a splint. Foam and ace bandages until we could see the orthopedists. They don't set bones at the ER or the urgent care.
Yes, going to eating places after anything makes the event better. I know this will be a 'storytelling opportunity for generations. I love you Shannon.

Ouch! Poor guy!! He does look brave though. Hope he is doing much better now.
