Awards Day

This morning the buddies and I went to the sixth grade awards day. I have to give the middle school props for keeping it moving along quickly. I wasn't sure what to expect with that many sixth graders.
They would tell what each award was, and then call all of the kids up on the stage for said award and hand out the various things. There was a brief pause for pictures and applause, and then they moved on along. At the end there was a slide show. I was fine, until the last song, which was "You're Gonna Miss This". It is really hitting me how quickly my kids are growing up and it makes me emotional.
(drying my eyes) Anywho, Levi got awards for Math excellence, the highest average in ELA, staying on A/B honor roll all year, and staying on Gold Level all year. He was tested for Math AIG earlier in the year and we just found out that he made it. Sixth grade has been awesome! Thanks to all his teachers on the Jaguar Team: Barrier, Eudy, Clay, Cress, and Cline. You ROCK!

Congratulations Levi! They do grow too quickly. It seems like just yesterday my 12 year old was little enough to crawl in my lap. Now, you're making me cry too!

Way to go, Levi!

To clear up what a team is: The students are divided into three groups of 80-90. Each group has it's own set of teachers. The groups are: Jaguars, Panthers and Cheetahs. Levi is a Jaguar. So when he changes classes he is only with the kids in the Jaguar Team.

That is a great song, and a total tearjerker! How MEAN of the school to play it and make you all emotional!
